For more than twenty years, Sarah Bleby’s career in festivals, music and international engagement has ventured from the cities of Japan, through deserts of Qatar, across the steppes of Mongolia, to the wilds of Adelaide, where she has held senior roles with Adelaide Festival Centre and Adelaide Guitar Festival, Create SA, Adelaide Symphony Orchestra, Musica Viva and the Adelaide Festival.
Sarah wrote Adelaide’s successful submission to be designated as a UNESCO City of Music in 2015. As its inaugural Director, she worked alongside government partners to promote and manage Adelaide’s place in UNESCO’s Creative Cities Network. Develop international pathways and collaborations and lead advocacy across all facets of the local music sector.
She directed community choirs for many years, programmed music for Classic Drive on ABC Classic, and remains an active choral singer when she can.
