Emma has always had a love for music. As a foundation member of the Adelaide Girls Choir commencing in 1988, she continued until the age of 18. Growing up in a choir environment has provided Emma with lifelong friendships, an appreciation for the importance of dedication and hard work and all the rewards it can offer.
Emma continued with her singing in an acapella group called Orphean, performing at festivals and weddings with ex choristers. Orphean provided a group of friends an opportunity to keep singing on Thursday nights continuing the high standard of musicianship and discipline they were familiar with.
In 2012 Emma joined the show Swinging Thru WW2 assisting to create the Shoo Shoo Mammas playing at the Fringe with local group Ellingtonâs Heirs. The show continued and progressed to an annual fundraising event held around Anzac Day supporting the local Legacy Group in her area. In approximately 7 years over $27,000 was raised.
Emma is looking forward to the opportunity to join the Board and contribute to an organisation that has influenced and contributed to her achievements to date. YAV provides choristers and young people with a sense of purpose, belonging, fostering commitment and confidence building whilst teaching excellence in music. Emma is currently the Secretary for the SA Branch of the Australian Private Hospitals Association and a member of the Yorke Peninsula Shack Association.
Emma is married with 3 teenage boys and a Registered Nurse for over 20 years. Emma is currently the CEO/Director of Nursing at Adelaide Day Surgery.
